Colorado Springs Entryways

Five entryway markers are ultimately planned for the major gateways into Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak region. Once completed, these markers will provide an enhanced sense of community identity. For visitors, they will send a message of arrival and welcome while for residents, they will signify a return home.

The first phase of this project, the North Entryway, was completed in 1994. The second phase of this project, the South Entryway, was completed in 2009. These entryways were designed to represent regional characteristics of northwest Colorado.

South Entrance

South Entrance

The Partnership for Community Design is pleased to announce the completion of the new Colorado Springs South Entryway Feature. This new landmark for Colorado Springs is located along I-25, just south of the Academy Exit. Now residents and visitors alike will be formally welcomed to wonderful Colorado Springs as they drvie into the City from the South.

This project could not have been completed without the wonderful support of our sponsors. This project was completed 100% by contributions and donations! Please click here for a PDF listing of the project's Sponsors, Contributors and Supporters.

The Partnership for Community Design is currently working on getting this southern landmark lighted.

North Entrance

PCD has planned for five entryways to Colorado Springs and raised funds, all private, for the entryway feature on North I-25.  Many agencies collaborate on this -- the City of Colorado Springs, the Air Force Academy, the Colorado Department of Transportation, Shepard’s/McGraw Hill, and many corporate and private citizens.  It’s a great welcoming statement, a front door as you enter Colorado Springs.
